In 1978 Taylor Wings began to see early signs of interest from the Trucking Industry in Aerodynamics and Fuel Savings. While we had been producing Wings for Race Cars for many years, the notion of a Wing on a truck was rather new. Of course one thing led to another and before we knew it, the truckers were not only enjoying the "Look" of that Wing on their truck, but it was actually saving them fuel. Who knew?
Well, we know now that they really do save fuel, at least a half a mile to the gallon and more. That's quite a savings.
Aerodynamics has become a very important part of trucking. We have developed many Wing sizes for many different style trucks to keep up with the growing demand for our products. In 1991 we expanded our Product Line, and began manufacturing many Truck Accessories such as Tool Boxes, Droms, Step Boxes, Chain Racks, Deck Plates and many more outfitting items for trucks.
In 1994 Taylor Wings moved into the age of Robotics with new State of the Art CNC manufacturing machinery for increased Product Quality and Production Speed. This enabled Taylor Wings distribution to expand throughout the United States, Canada, Europe, and Australia.
At this time Taylor Wings recognized the need for high quality Products in the RV market. It was then that the first four page RV Product Catalog was introduced. By 1999 the RV product line had become a large part of our business.
Always looking for new products, Taylor Wings introduced a full line of Contractor tool boxes, transfer tanks, and cab racks in 2001. Knowing that most truck boxes on the market had an average lifespan of only one year, we could contribute to changing the view on truck tool boxes. Taylor Wings had geared their products for heavy use and durability for the last 25 years. So it was simple, take all that we have learned and apply it to the Contractor Trade. The original 4 page catalog has now expanded to over 20 pages.
Over the past 30 years Taylor Wings, Inc. facility has grown from the start in a 900 sq. ft. garage to its new facility due to be completed in late 2006 of 50,000+ sq. ft. We are excited about our future and we look forward to taking care of our customer's needs for many years to come.
